The Electric Beast

This is probably the closest creation that BMW have to a proper supercar. When you see this car you know that you are looking at something special. It’s eye-catching, it has crazy lines and curves, and it’s expensive, everything you could want in a supercar. This car is from BMW’s i line. The 2011 concept was designed by Richard Kim but the production version was designed by Benoit Jacob. The other car in the i series is the i3. The i8 has a few fixed color options, and it looks great in them all, especially this blue color that I was lucky enough to see it in.

Personally I love the look of this car. This car is attractive from every angle. It doesn’t have a bad side. The front has this sleek grill. It doesn’t need to be that huge because this car is part electric. The hood is a nice and long sloping surface improving the look furthermore. Coming off of the grill are headlights sticking with that sleek and futuristic theme. They still have a fierce look about them though which makes the car look even nicer. One of the best features about this vehicle are its doors. The scissor doors go up and out. When they are both open it’s truly a sight to behold. Onto the rear of this beast. It looks like it should belong in the future. Overall it’s not the best rear of a car but what makes it stand out are its rear end lights. Not only is it a striking shape, looking something like an extremely short U, but the way it flows into the side of the i8. A portion of the side and a portion of the back comes out so there’s an overhang. They nearly touch but there’s still a gap, creating a sort of tunnel on both sides of the vehicle.

Now for the power source. Regardless of the fact that this is part electric, the BMW can still go from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 155 miles per hour. This car has 357 horsepower. If you’re just using the electric power of this car you can go a max of 23 miles. Because this car has both gasoline and electricity you get a fuel efficiency of 134.5 mpg, or if you are just running on gas then you get 29 miles per gallon. Those are pretty good stats considering that some other supercars get 12 mpg. You can get this great looking car with the great electric and gas engine for only $140,000.
