This Thursday I attended my very first car unveiling at Ferrari of Norwood. Any car unveiling would be brilliant, but this one was unforgettable. The unveiling of the astounding, all new Ferrari GTC4Lusso. When we arrived, the rain was pouring outside, but inside the newly renovated showroom the atmosphere was was warm and convivial. The whole event was just positively fantastic. The GTC4Lusso, right in the middle of it all, a line of Ferrari’s on one side, and another line, this time of Maserati’s on the other side. Both lines of supercars sticking to a white and red exterior color theme. Also in our presence was a Maserati Levante, a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, and a Ferrari Superamerica. Throughout the entire event incredibly delicious hors d'oeuvres were served. Every single one left your mouth wanting 2 or 3 more. The catering was phenomenal. Everyone all over the event was just mingling and chatting. There was also live music throughout the evening that added to the whole ambience. Add those two things to a showroom full of unbelievable cars and it makes for a pretty decent atmosphere. When the unveiling came around Ernie Boch himself gave an introduction to the GTC4Lusso and got the crowd excited with a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 countdown to the removal of the red silk cover. He went on to explain that after that night Ferrari would take the car away so that it could be unveiled at another location. I was lucky enough to have a small conversation with him and we had a quick chat about my blog and some of the cars I had seen in London. When the event finished you left the stunning showroom and walked past their collection of exquisite cars covered in raindrops making for a pretty spectacular walk back to your car. I want to thank Ferrari of New England again for inviting me and also for hosting such a brilliant and exceptional event.

Ferrari’s new four-seater, successor to the FF and raising the bar for GT cars all over the world. The Ferrari FF was a pretty good car, yet it wasn’t good enough for Ferrari so they introduced this masterpiece. When the suspense seemed like it couldn’t rise any more they gathered everyone around the center of the showroom to reveal a new chapter in Ferrari’s future. Two ladies made their way to the front of the car. The only thing between the GTC4Lusso and a room full of eager eyes was a thin layer of fabric with the prancing horse embroidered into the center that was about to be removed in moments. Mr. Ernie Boch counted down from 5. The cloth was rolled back to so that everyone could finally see what they had come for.
It was absolutely jaw-dropping. Other than the car itself, the color was amazing to say the least. Before, I thought that it would have been a silverish grey color or Grigio Ferro as Ferrari like to call it, but no, it was infinitely better than that. Depending on where you were looking at it from it could appear jet black, midnight blue, or a deep, rich purple. After the cover was off they talked a little bit more about it, then started it up so you could hear the V12 roar, and opened up its doors for people to enjoy the interior.

The exterior is just stunning. The frontal grill is just a lot cleaner than that of the FF with air vents off to the side. An aggressive splitter is found just underneath. The headlights are pretty nice. Just behind the 20” Forges wheels and the optional Scuderia shields are some side vents. These vents are an improvement over the FF’s plain mesh ones. Ferrari says that this is a “further refinement of the shooting brake coupé” and that this gives it more of a fastback look in silhouette form. I think Ferrari have done a pretty good job with the back of the GTC4Lusso. I also think that this looks better than the rear of the FF. The rear lights are really nice and sort of tie together with the sport exhaust pipes that were on this exact one. The double lights suit the car greatly. I couldn’t really imagine it with the lights from its predecessor. All around, this is an extremely good looking car.

The interior of this special car is, as you could probably guess, Ferrari standard, sheer luxury. This particular interior was a beautiful combination of tan and black leather. According to a few guests at the event the fact that the interior is mostly tan, it will keep the interior cooler in the summer because it won't absorb the heat. I could have sat for hours in that car but sadly the event did need to end at one point. I spent a considerable amount of time in each seat and I can tell you that there isn’t a single bad view of the inside no matter where you are. It is truly spectacular. Each seat is so utterly comfortable that you can’t give it justice just with words. You might think that because this is a two plus two the rear passengers would be crammed in beyond belief, it’s actually the opposite. Each passenger has tons of legroom and space to move around. Not that any seat is bad in the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, but my favorite would have to be the drivers. The steering wheel is a piece of art in itself. You can control most things from just the wheel including the engine start, paddle shifters, headlights, phone answering, and which type of driving mode you want to be in such as, sport, comfort, or wet. For almost everything else you use a touchscreen to navigate around the other functions. On the passenger side you do have the option to have a passenger display. If you get this option it adds a screen right in front of where the passenger sits and shows them things like g-force, a speedometer, and many other features. Because this is a four seater instead of a two seater you actually have a decent amount of space in the boot. This is yet another example of the magic that Ferrari can work when it comes to brilliant interiors and cars.

The GTC4Lusso has some serious power. With a V12 that pumps out 681 horsepower, that’s more than some supercars. This is a four seater with more power than a Mclaren 650s, a Ferrari 458 Italia, and a Lamborghini Huracan just to name a few. This is also 30 more horsepower than the FF. The V12 model is all wheel drive, but Ferrari are coming out with a model called the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T which is a V8 and is rear wheel drive. Ferrari claim that the GTC4Lusso can go from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 208 miles per hour. That’s not bad. They also say that it is breaking records for its class in combustion and power to weight ratios. The price tag for this V12, record breaking, luxurious, comfortable, and marvelous beast of a car is $300,000. I guess that’s just the price you need to pay for something as great a thing as the Ferrari GTC4Lusso.
